Bring your toughest conditions to Abu Dhabi

Energy projects across the Middle East keep pushing materials harder. For four days our specialists are at the ADNEC Centre: talk through your specifications and see the tubular stainless steels and special alloys built for these conditions. Prefer we reach out? Leave your details.

  • Built for extreme conditions

Tubular stainless steels and special alloys for corrosive fluids, seawater and high pressures, upstream and downstream.

    Oil and gas
  • An alternative to nickel alloys

Considering a costly nickel alloy? Go through your operating conditions with our specialists: a high-performance stainless steel could do the job for less.

  • For lower-carbon operations

81% recycled steel in our products and 98% fossil-free electricity in our production.

What we're showcasing

A quick guide before you arrive. Bring your media, chloride levels, temperature and pressure data and we'll narrow the choice down together at the stand.

Control lines and coils

Downhole

Small-diameter tubing that carries hydraulic fluid and control chemicals between surface and downhole equipment, engineered for well integrity and reliability in critical downhole operations.

Typical use: production control, subsurface safety valves, chemical injection, well intervention

Hydraulic and instrumentation tubing

H&I

Each grade is engineered for process, offshore, petrochemical, chemical and hydrogen service, with full control from melt to final inspection.

Typical use: hydraulic lines, instrumentation and control systems

SAF® 3007

Super-duplex

A new super-duplex grade developed for subsea umbilicals. Excellent strength and resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking for seawater and high-pressure service.

Typical use: subsea umbilical tubing

Sanicro® 35

Super-austenitic

Bridges stainless steels and nickel alloys. Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking for seawater and other highly corrosive service. Complies with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156-3.

Typical use: hydraulic and instrumentation (H&I) tubing, heat exchanger (HX) tubing, seawater cooling

SAF® 3006

High-alloy duplex

Tailored for corrosion resistance in acid and caustic environments, with very high mechanical strength. A cost-effective alternative to austenitic stainless steels and nickel-based alloys.

Typical use: heat exchanger tubing: caustic evaporators, acid coolers, condensers

FAQ

Materials for extreme conditions, answered

Can a stainless steel replace a nickel alloy?

Often, yes. Grades such as the super-austenitic Sanicro® 35 and the high-alloy duplex SAF® 3006 combine high corrosion resistance with high strength, and can be a lower-cost alternative to nickel alloys in many chloride-containing, acidic and caustic environments. Our specialists can assess your operating conditions.

Which grades suit seawater service?

Sanicro® 35 has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, which makes it particularly suitable where seawater is used for cooling or heating. For subsea umbilicals, the super-duplex SAF® 3007 handles seawater and high pressures with excellent mechanical strength.

Is Sanicro® 35 approved for sour service?

Sanicro® 35 complies with NACE MR0175/ISO 15156-3 for use in H2S-containing environments in oil and gas production, and with NACE MR0103/ISO 17495-1 for corrosive refining environments.
